In most cases, in addition to a very thorough physical examination, in order to establish an accurate diagnosis, sampling the affected area (cytology, skin scraping, histology, microbiology, etc.), as well as additional tests may become necessary, which include special tests, blood and urine examinations, as well as ultrasound examinations and, if necessary, a chest X-ray.
